What payment options can I use on uhomes.com?

uhomes.com supports multiple secure and convenient payment methods, including Alipay, WeChat Pay, credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), and bank transfers. You can simply select your preferred payment method when prompted.

Before You Pay:
  • Make sure your bank card is enabled for online and cross-border payments for use on our platform.
  • Due to varying global bank policies, we recommend checking with your bank regarding any transaction limits or potential transaction fees.
  • Ensure your payment account has sufficient balance before you proceed to avoid delays in securing your room.

What does the rent include in uhomes.com student accommodation?

Most uhomes.com student accommodations offer all-inclusive rent, meaning utility bills, on-site amenities, and services are all covered. No hidden costs.

Typically, your rent includes:
  • Utility bills: water, electricity, gas, heating, etc.
  • High-speed Wi-Fi
  • 24/7 Security
  • On-site maintenance and support
  • Free access to communal amenities, such as study rooms, gym, cinema room, games room, and lounge.
Please note that the exact items included may vary by property. You can always check available amenities on each property page to know exactly what you're getting.

Are there any other additional fees I should know about, apart from rent and the service fee?

Additional fees may apply depending on the country and property. Besides the rent and service fee, you should be aware of the following fees:
  • Reservation Fee: This acts as the booking fee to reserve the property before paying your deposit or rent. This fee is usually deducted from your deposit or first month’s rent when you move in.
  • Deposit: The amount is typically equal to one month's rent (varies by property). The deposit is refundable at the end of your stay, provided there’s no damage to the property or any breach of contract terms within the rental period.
  • Utility Bills: Most uhomes.com student housing includes all utilities. While water, gas, electricity, and other related fees may be charged separately for private rentals. Check your contract to see which utilities are included. Most contracts will include some of your usual household bills (but remember: if it is not mentioned, then it is not included!)
  • Application Fee: In America and Australia, an application fee may be charged for a student apartment application. Please note that this is non-refundable.
Tip: Always review your contract carefully to understand which fees are included and which are additional.

Can I use CITCON to pay my rent or buy property?

uhomes.com supports CITCON payments through WeChat Pay and Alipay, currently available only for rental payments in the United States.

Please note that property purchase listings on uhomes.com are for information display only, and payments for buying property are not processed on the platform.

How long do I have to complete the payment after making a booking?

uhomes.com holds your booking for 72 hours. You must complete payment within this timeframe to secure your desired property. After 72 hours, the booking will expire, and a new booking and payment are required, subject to availability.

How do I know if my payment was successfully processed?

After you complete a payment, uhomes.com will display a confirmation message. If no confirmation appears, check your Alipay or WeChat Pay account to see if the payment has been deducted.

If your payment fails due to card issues or connection problems, please go to Personal Centre – My Bookings and try the payment again. Contact uhomes.com customer service if the problem persists.

Why hasn’t my booking status updated after I have paid?

Successful online payments may take a few moments to sync with uhomes.com’s system. If your booking status remains unchanged after a few hours, please contact your rental consultant to resolve the issue.

Can I pay my rent in installments?

Instalment options vary by property. A UK guarantor is often required for this option. Please check the specific instalment plan in the "Payment Details" section on the detailed property pages.

Do I need to pay a deposit? How much is it?

Some properties require a security deposit to cover abnormal damage to the property or unpaid rent. The deposit amount varies depending on the room type and tenancy length. It is usually refunded in full after checkout, provided no damages or violations occurred.

When can I get my deposit back?

Your deposit for student housing is usually refunded within 4–8 weeks after the tenancy ends, provided there is no abnormal damage or unpaid rent. The exact timing depends on the property’s policies. You can confirm it with the accommodation management before moving out.

Can I make one-time payments instead of setting up scheduled payments?

Yes. You can choose to make single, one-time payments as you prefer.

What payment methods are not accepted for accommodation booking?

For security and compliance reasons, uhomes.com does not accept:
  • cash
  • cheques
  • bank drafts
  • money orders
  • any informal or offline payment methods
